We came for four or five months to rest after COVID. In summer we decided to try staying — and we stayed.
After COVID, while the kids were still homeschooling, we decided to spend four or five months in Florida. We rented a huge Chevrolet Tahoe and went to explore the state: different places, beaches, golf, boat rides, meeting new people. We were in no hurry — for the first time in a long while.
In summer we realized we wanted to try staying. We started on the paperwork: filed everything we needed, enrolled the kids in school — and began a new path from scratch, including learning the language.
We also got to see what Halloween is like in America, and how Christmas is celebrated here — our first, and unfamiliar.
